At Orana Pilates & Wellness, your safety and well-being are our top priority. In order to maintain a safe and effective environment for all clients, we reserve the right to place restrictions on class participation under the following circumstances:
Safety Considerations:
Owners and/or instructors may limit your access to specific class types based on fitness level, experience, or physical condition to ensure you are participating in a class appropriate for your abilities.
Restrictions may be applied if a class requires a higher level of strength, mobility, or technical ability that is beyond the scope of a client’s current capacity. This is done to avoid injury and ensure proper form and technique during class.
Medical Clearance:
Clients with existing medical conditions, injuries, or those recovering from surgery must provide medical clearance from a healthcare professional to participate in certain classes.
Instructors may ask for medical clearance prior to allowing participation in classes such as Reformer Pilates, high-intensity workouts, or other classes that involve movements that could aggravate a condition.
If you are undergoing rehabilitation or physical therapy, we may suggest classes tailored to mobility, recovery, or gentler exercises that are better suited to your current health status.
Specialised Classes:
Certain classes may have additional restrictions for the benefit of the client and to avoid harm, such as pregnancy, post-partum, or rehabilitation-focused classes. In these cases, you may be required to book into specific sessions that are designed for your condition or stage of recovery.
For classes that focus on strength training or advanced Pilates techniques, we may recommend that clients have a minimum level of experience or prior training in Pilates.
Ongoing Evaluation:
We reserve the right to reevaluate your participation in a class at any time if the instructor observes any safety concerns, difficulty maintaining form, or discomfort during a session. This will always be discussed with the client, and a modification to the class schedule may be recommended to ensure that you are participating in a safe and comfortable environment.
Instructors’ Discretion:
Ultimately, our instructors have the discretion to recommend, modify, or restrict class types for your best interest. If a client is unable to meet the requirements of a specific class, the instructor may suggest a more appropriate class type or work with you to develop a progressive plan to increase your abilities over time.
By ensuring that all participants are matched with the appropriate class for their needs, we aim to create a positive and injury-free experience for everyone. If you have any concerns about class restrictions, please feel free to discuss them with your instructor before or after class.
